Blown-in insulation for CPR Irvine attics and closed cavities

Loose-fill insulation is blown in rather than cut and fitted, which makes it the right answer wherever a batt cannot go: over an irregular CPR Irvine attic floor, around trusses and bracing, and into wall cavities that are already closed. What you are paying for is settled depth spread evenly, and that is a thing which can be measured. Depth markers go in before the hose starts, and we read them at the corners rather than in the middle where it is always deepest.

Bath fans and the ducts above the ceiling

A very common find

Fans discharging into the attic instead of outside, or a duct that has come off its boot and is blowing into the insulation.

Why it belongs in this job

It is the fastest way to soak an CPR Irvine attic from inside. We look for it while the space is open and flag it before covering anything, rather than blowing over the top.

CPR Irvine drywall in context

About CPR Irvine

This non-residential neighbourhood is largely commercial or industrial in nature.

What we see in CPR Irvine

In CPR Irvine the drywall work is first-year settling, basement dev for first owners, Level 5 over builder-grade. We confirm what your home actually needs on site, in writing, before anything starts.

Settled depth versus installed depth

The number that counts

Loose-fill settles after installation. A job blown to look right on the day can be measurably short a year later.

How it is specified

The manufacturer publishes a settled depth and the bag count needed to reach it over a given area. We work to that and mark it, rather than blowing until the CPR Irvine attic looks full.

What we hand over at the end

Evidence, not assurances

Bag count, target settled depth, and photographs of the finished CPR Irvine space including the corners and the eaves.

Why it matters later

It is what lets you or anyone else confirm years afterwards what was actually installed, rather than probing a hole in the ceiling and guessing.

Topping up what is already there

Usually the best value

Dry, uncontaminated existing material does not need removing. Blowing over it to reach the target settled depth costs a fraction of a strip-and-replace.

When we say no

If it is damp, matted flat, rodent-affected, or hiding unsealed penetrations, adding over it buries a problem. We say which one we found in the CPR Irvine attic and price both options.

Moisture is what ruins it

Wet insulation is not insulation

Loose-fill that takes moisture packs down, loses most of its value and does not recover when it dries.

Finding the cause first

A damp patch in an CPR Irvine attic means a roof leak, a bathroom fan venting into the space, or warm moist air leaking up through the ceiling. Blowing new material over any of those wastes it.

Removing old loose-fill

A vacuum job, not a shovel job

Old blown-in comes out with a vacuum and hose into sealed bags, because disturbing decades of settled material makes a great deal of airborne dust.

What it buys

A clean deck to air-seal properly and, in older CPR Irvine homes, the chance to see the ceiling structure and any past leaks before they are covered again.

Loose Fill Insulation CPR Irvine Edmonton: your questions answered

How messy is it?
Dusty — the machine sits outside and a hose runs through the house to the hatch. We protect the route, seal around the hatch and vacuum afterwards. What the house looks like at the end is most of the difference between crews.
Can you just add over what is already up there?
Usually, and it is the best value if the existing material is dry, even and uncontaminated. If it is damp, matted, rodent-affected or hiding unsealed penetrations, adding over it buries the problem — we tell you which one we found.
What if you find old wiring?
If we find wiring that must not be covered, we stop and say so rather than blowing over it. That is an electrician's call, not ours, and it is a real reason a job gets paused rather than finished the same day.
Will it make the house quieter?
It noticeably reduces airborne noise from outside — traffic, aircraft, neighbours. It does very little for footsteps from a floor above, which travel through structure, and we would rather say which half it fixes.
How do I know I got what I paid for?
Bag count. Every bag states the area it covers at a given depth, so bags used divided by area is exactly what went in. We keep them, mark the target settled depth, and read the depth back at the corners rather than the middle.
What about my pot lights?
Older recessed fixtures are not all rated to be covered and loose-fill packs right against them. We check the rating, and where they are not rated they get a proper clearance detail that is also sealed, rather than being buried and hoped about.
